Exciting Updates on Disney's Encanto Ride Construction! (2026)

Get ready for an exciting transformation in the world of Disney's Animal Kingdom! The Tropical Americas expansion is well underway, bringing a whole new level of enchantment to this magical park.

But here's where it gets controversial... Disney is constructing an attraction inspired by the beloved film, Encanto, in the former DinoLand U.S.A. area. The EncantoRide, as it's being called, will feature a façade reminiscent of the iconic Casita from the movie.

Construction is in full swing, with steel being added daily to the future Encanto-themed ride. Since our last update, the building's framework has taken shape, with crews hard at work adding beams and structure.

During our recent visit, we witnessed the crane in action, moving steel pieces behind the construction walls. It's an exciting sight to see the progress!

The Tropical Americas land, officially named Pueblo Esperanza, is set to open in 2027, and it promises to be a vibrant addition to Disney's Animal Kingdom. Along with the Encanto attraction, Pueblo Esperanza will also feature a unique carousel, showcasing carved Disney animals, including the beloved Kevin from Up.

In the former Boneyard area, construction crews are busy laying the foundation for this new carousel. And this is the part most people miss... the carousel will not only delight riders but also serve as a beautiful centerpiece for the entire land.

The expansion of Tropical Americas will gain momentum after February 1, 2026, when DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus permanently close their doors. But fear not, as these attractions will be reimagined! DINOSAUR is set to transform into an Indiana Jones-themed ride, adding even more adventure to the park.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting transformation, and don't forget to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments. Are you excited about the Encanto-themed ride? What do you think of the new carousel and playground additions? We'd love to hear your thoughts and spark a discussion about this magical expansion!
